Edward Duke is an experienced trial lawyer who was
admitted to the bar in 1978. He received his
undergraduate degree from Northwestern University and
his law degree from Detroit College of Law. He is a
member of the State Bar of Michigan, the Michigan Trial
Lawyers Association, and the American Trial Lawyers
Association.
For over 25 years Mr. Duke has successfully

Representative cases include a tunnel explosion case
where his severely burned client received an award of
$1.8 million dollars. He also achieved a $1.250 million
dollar settlement for the estate of a nineteen year old
young woman who was killed in a motor vehicle collision.
The trial of his client's slip and fall case resulted in
a jury verdict of $550,000.00. Over his career Mr. Duke
has recovered millions of dollars in damages for his
clients.
Mr. Duke's primary specialty is litigation. In
addition to complex civil litigation Mr. Duke's areas of
concentration include family law and
criminal defense
with an emphasis on drunk driving defense. He has
successfully handled hundreds of divorce cases involving
complex property and support issues. To protect his
client's interests he has developed long standing
professional relationships with outstanding experts in
the fields of business valuation, taxation, and child
custody.
In the criminal arena Mr. Duke has aggressively
represented clients charged with drug offenses, property
crimes, assaultive crimes, and criminal sexual conduct.
He has represented hundreds of clients charged with
drunk driving throughout Michigan. He has worked with
many outstanding toxicologists who specialize in the
effect of alcohol on the human body and routinely uses
their expertise to protect his clients who face
prosecution for a drinking related offense.
Although Mr. Duke practices primarily in
Lapeer
County, he has handled cases throughout the state. In
